Bethesda hat bekanntgegeben, dass Fallout 76 nicht auf Steam erscheinen wird. Zusätzlich gab es weitere Informationen zum Umfang der B.E.T.A. und wie der Spielfortschritt gehandhabt wird.
Bisher hatte Bethesda nur erklärt, dass Fallout 76 auf PlayStation 4, Xbox One und PC am 14. November erscheinen wird. Über welche Kanäle die PC-Version aber erhältlich sein wird, war bisher nicht bekannt.
Das hat sich jetzt geändert. Die B.E.T.A. und das finale Spiel werden nur via Bethesda Launcher funktionieren. Ob dieser Schritt dauerhaft sein wird, bleibt abzuwarten.
Fallout Shelter erschien im Juni 2015 anfangs auch exklusiv auf Bethesda.net. Im März des darauffolgenden Jahres erschien das Spiel dann auch auf Steam.

Ebenfalls gab Bethesda in einem FAQ bekannt, inwieweit die B.E.T.A. dem finalen Spiel entsprechen wird und was vom dem erspielten Fortschritt der Spieler passieren wird.
„Nach unserem aktuellen Plan wird die B.E.T.A. das vollständige Spiel enthalten und sämtliche Fortschritte werden in die Vollversion übernommen. Wir hoffen, Sie im Ödland zu sehen!“
B.E.T.A. steht bei Fallout 76 übrigens für „Break it Early Test Application“ (dt.: Mach es früh kaputt Test Anwendung). Humor hat man bei Bethesda, soviel steht fest. Gerade wenn man bedenkt, in welchem Zustand sich die meisten ihrer Spiele beim Launch befinden.
